“All lives are important and matter”

Norbert Bischofberger, the inventor of Remdesivir, explains the effect of the first drug US President Trump was given to cure his COVID infection. “If we can save the life of a poor black person in Harlem, that's as important as saving Trump's life”, the native Austrian tells Die Weltwoche.

The biochemist Nobert Bischofberger has a record of 28 drugs approvals under his watch. He invented Tamiflu and medicines for a range of serious conditions which led the transformation of the treatment of diseases such as HIV, HCV, lymphoma and recently a medicine against COVID, as Bischofberger explained in an interview with Weltwoche earlier this year. Remdesivir has received emergency approval in Mai.
