In less than one week, California could make history by electing radio show host and conservative firebrand Larry Elder its first Black governor and the first Republican to win in California, statewide, in fifteen years. On September 14th, Golden State voters go to the polls to decide if golden boy Gavin Newsom will serve out his term as governor or be replaced by one of 46 competitors. It’s a long shot against entrenched interests bankrolling an $80 million dollar Newsom war chest. But Elder, who calls himself “America’s Truth Detector,” has emerged a surprise GOP dark horse.
