There’s an old DC joke that Washington is Hollywood for ugly people.

And for years, Hollywood’s Oscar orgy has been politics for the sexy people.  Sunday night’s 91st broadcast from the Los Angeles Dolby Theater delivered.
“Saturday Night Live” alum Maya Rudolph led the ceremonies deadpanning, “There is no host tonight.  There will not be a popular film category.  And Mexico is not paying for the wall.”
Three time Oscar winner, Bond villain, and award presenter Javier Bardem delivered his own political thrust. “There are no borders or walls that can restrain ingenuity and talent!” — or the frightening pageboy haircut he sported in “No Country for Old Men.”
