But if you were to read the newspapers, especially in Germany, you'd often be tempted to bet against Elon Musk. The founder of Tesla had "deceived his investors and betrayed capitalism," announced the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper when Musk was targeted by the SEC, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, at the end of August. The article was titled "Swan Song". The Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper had already called Musk a "con-man".
