“We have to form coalitions”

Glencore has been pioneering upcycling and recycling in commodities such as copper, cobalt, nickel, lead and zinc. The next big challenge is the circular economy, says Glencore’s Kunal Sinha.

Kunal Sinha, who today is Glencore’s Head of Copper and Electronics Recycling, has been with the company for over ten years. He originally held a trading role, and from there, he morphed into one of Glencore’s most important sustainability managers. His team recycles about 27,000 to 30,000 tons of copper from recyclable feeds, such as e-scrap, each year. Die Weltwoche talked to Mr. Sinha over Zoom.
